As far as set-top boxes are concerned, the Apple TV is small and unobtrusive and can be easily hidden if need be. However, could the design of the Apple TV be further improved upon? We imagine so, and that is something that designer Iván Antón has attempted to do in his own concept of the Apple TV.
In his concept, Antón envisions the Apple TV as having a wall plug built directly into it. This would allow the Apple TV to be plugged directly into a wall outlet, thus saving users the need for an extra power cable in addition to the HDMI cable that the device uses. This creates a much neater alternative to the current setup.
However, what we think could be the selling point here would be how Antón has included a MagSafe charger built into the Apple TV itself. By building MagSafe into the Apple TV itself, it would allow users to wirelessly charge the Siri Remote. It would also make it a good place for users to store and mount the remote when not in use so that it doesn’t get replaced.
This is a much more elegant solution compared to the current setup which still relies on wired charging for the Siri Remote. That being said, this is a concept so don’t get your hopes up at seeing it made a reality anytime soon, or at all.
