Ever since the first Echo made its debut, over the years, Amazon has made various changes to the lineup by coming up with new designs and new variations of its Echo speakers. This includes creating smaller versions like the Echo Dot, to Echo speakers that come with a built-in display.
Now according to a report from Bloomberg, it seems that Amazon could be working on yet another iteration of its Echo devices, except that this version could be the company’s largest effort to date. The report claims that this Echo device will feature a 15-inch display and will also be wall mounted.
This suggests that Amazon could be looking to make this Echo unit a smart home center where users could potentially use it to replace traditional light switches and control it all from the display. It could also serve as a display to stream video from security cameras or smart doorbell systems like Ring, which is also owned by Amazon.
It sounds rather exciting, although we’re not sure how much such a device could cost just yet. Amazon is expected to host an event on the 28th of September, so we should have more details about this device (and others) then.
