WhatsApp Will Apparently Make Agreeing To Its Terms Of Service Optional

Ever since WhatsApp introduced changes to its privacy policy, many have gotten up in arms over it. This is because it was revealed that users who did not accept the changes would eventually see their usage of the app become limited and even lose access to some features as well.

However, according to a new report from WABetaInfo, it seems that WhatsApp could be having a change of heart. The report claims that WhatsApp could soon make agreeing to these terms of service optional. What this means is that if you haven’t agreed to the new terms of service, you won’t have to.

However, when you attempt to chat with a business account, you will need to review and agree to those terms. This means that if you only use WhatsApp for personal use and never chat with business accounts, this probably won’t affect you, but if you plan to chat with business accounts then you will have no choice.

In WhatsApp’s defense, the issues and controversy surrounding the changes would have mostly affected chats with business accounts, not personal ones, so it makes sense that you would only need to agree if you wanted to communicate with businesses. However, the company’s handling of the situation could have been better and clearer, which they have attempted to do over the past several months.
