The company has announced their latest pair in the form of the Smart Sock Plus which will come with features like a heart rate sensor, pulse oximeter, and also sleep tracking. Prior to this, the company’s smart sock was only available for infants and babies, but with the Smart Sock Plus, it will be usable with kids up to five years old, or those weighing under 55 pounds.
The company claims that they were inundated with requests from parents to use the sock past the 18 month cutoff, and they said that they have now updated their algorithms to take into account for older kids, but otherwise the functionality should remain the same.
That being said, this smart sock doesn’t exactly come cheap. The regular version is priced at $299, but if you want the Smart Sock Plus for your older kids, those will retail for $359. At those prices, we have to wonder if maybe buying a kids smartwatch might be a better idea.
