Unfortunately, if that was one of the main reasons you’ve been holding out on the iPhone 13, you might be disappointed to learn that may no longer be happening. This is according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman where in the latest issue of his Power On newsletter, Gurman claims that Apple has scrapped plans to bring Touch ID to the iPhone 13.
In fact, he goes on to suggest that Apple might no longer be interested in bringing back Touch ID to its flagship iPhones, and that Apple will simply work on improving Face ID instead. Gurman claims that Apple has been testing displays that would support in-display Touch ID, but for whatever reason has opted not to push ahead with it.
He also goes on to state that he believes Apple is “all-in on Face ID”, which is also what Apple said from the start, and that future iterations of Face ID might come hidden in the display, which could be one of the ways of reducing or even hiding the notch.
