However, according to the latest episode of Power On, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman revealed that Apple could make an update later this year. Gurman claims that Apple will be launching a ninth-generation iPad this fall where it will not only come with a faster processor, but it is expected to also sport a thinner design.

The last time Apple updated the iPad was in 2020 where it came with the A12 Bionic chipset. Given that 2020 saw the launch of the A14 Bionic, it stands to reason that this could be how Apple is cutting on costs, and it also means that for this year’s refresh, maybe it could see an upgrade to the A13 or A14.
As for the design, Gurman claims that it will be thinner, but we’re not sure if we’re looking at similar design adopted by the iPad Air and iPad Pro, or if it will stick to the same design but just thinner. Either way, if you’re looking for a new entry-level iPad, then this fall could see it launch, but take these claims with a grain of salt for now.
