If you’re shopping about for a new smartwatch, there’s something you’ll need to consider and that is whether or not that watch will be upgraded to Google and Samsung’s Wear OS 3 platform. The good news is that Fossil has since announced their brand new Gen 6 smartwatches.
These smartwatches will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Wear 4100+ chipset. According to Fossil, the use of the chipset means that users can look forward to faster loading times as well as support for fast-charging, where it can recharge the watch up to 80% in just half an hour.
There will also be continuous heart rate tracking, a new blood oxygenation sensor, and also a wellness app. That being said, it should be noted that the watches do not come with Wear OS 3 installed, simply because it isn’t available yet. However, the good news is that these watches will eventually be upgraded once the update is available, which is currently set for 2022
The new Fossil Gen 6 smartwatches will be available in a variety of designs, colors, and materials and will range in price. If you’re interested, they are available for pre-order via Fossil’s website where they are priced anywhere between $299 and $319, depending on the configuration you’ve chosen.
