The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE is a more affordable version in the Galaxy Tab S7 series. FE stands for “Fan Edition” and is typically used by Samsung to designate products with essential features and optimum “value for the price” technical characteristics.
The first version to launch in the USA is the Tab S7 FE 5G version, in partnership with AT&T and Verizon with T-Mobile and others following shortly. However, that second group of carriers has yet to communicate on a specific date.
The 5G model’s MSRP should be $669.99, and the WiFi version is more affordable and starts at $529.99 with 64GB of storage.
Samsung has a long history of giving perks to early and loyal customers, and the official announcement included a time-limited offer. It says: “Consumers who purchase the Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G or pre-order the Galaxy Tab S7 FE (WiFi) will receive an $80 instant Samsung credit.”
If you have an old device laying around, Samsung also offers trade-in options to make it even affordable and accepts a large selection of non-Samsung products for trade-in. For example, if I traded in my old iPad Air 2, that would reduce my final invoice by $200 – tempting!
Always-connected devices make one much more productive, but the connectivity options (and prices!) are always a friction point that carriers and OEMs are trying to smooth out. For instance, AT&T has “unlimited” 5G plans, so users won’t have to worry about overage charges or throttling.
Samsung designed the Galaxy Tab S7 FE to look and feel like the more expensive Galaxy Tab S7+. As such, it features a 12.4-inch display and the same 10090 mAh battery capacity. However, the FE model features a more affordable Qualcomm SM7325 processor and a less expensive WQXGA (2560×1600) display, still compatible with the Samsung S-Pen.
Both changes should be agreeable to most users and are entirely acceptable considering the new price. The official specs are below, and you can find the official press release by following the link.
