With the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo tried to create a hybrid device that was both portable and also doubled up as a home console. Naturally, this resulted in some compromises in the hardware where they had to make it small and light enough to be brought around. This is also why consoles like the Xbox Series X and S are so chunky.
However, if you relish the idea of being able to bring around a console like the Xbox, then you might be interested in the xScreen. This is an accessory launched on Kickstarter that you can clip onto the Xbox Series S and it turns it into a gaming laptop of sorts. It even comes with a built-in screen so all you would need is a power outlet to plug the Xbox Series S into and you’re good to go!
According to its creators, “With the release of Microsoft’s Xbox Series S, we saw an opportunity to create a portable full-power console due to its small form factor. The xScreen has an integrated design that connects to the Xbox Series S with a removable folding screen and included speakers providing a laptop like experience on a console.”
It’s an intriguing idea and if you’re interested in it, then you can pledge your support on its Kickstarter page. If you were to pledge your support now, you would be able to save as much as 20% on the retail price of the console, so head on over for the details.
