What’s interesting about the new OnePlus Nord 2 5G is that OnePlus has actually turned to MediaTek for the chipset. The handset will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200. This is versus the Qualcomm chipset that was used in last year’s model, although the Dimensity 1200 is said to be close in performance to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870, which isn’t a flagship but it’s still part of the 800 series.
OnePlus has also worked with MediaTek to help incorporate some AI features into the phone, like AI Video Enhancement, AI Color Boost, and AI Resolution Boost. Other features of the phone also include a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, up to 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.
The phone will also be packing a Sony IMX 766 50MP main shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP monochrome camera, with a 32MP Sony IMX 615 camera on the front. The OnePlus Nord 2 will also sport an in-display fingerprint sensor along with a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W Warp Charging.
