This isn’t a feature we’ve seen in the iPhone yet, but according to the latest rumors from EverythingApplePro, it seems that there is a possibility that the iPhone 13 could come with that feature. The report claims that the phone could feature larger wireless charging coils, which they speculate could be used to act as a reverse wireless charger.
We’re not sure about the power output of the reverse wireless charger, but chances are it won’t be big enough to really make that much of a difference. Instead, we suspect that if Apple were to include such a feature, it might be aimed towards charging other Apple devices like the AirPods, for example.
Apple’s current iPhones actually have the ability to reverse wireless charge, according to FCC filings, but it has not been enabled for whatever reason. This report also goes against a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman earlier this year, where he claims that the feature will be unlikely to come to the iPhone in the near future, so make of it what you will.
