These days, Android phones are coming with some pretty insane charging speeds. Take the recently announced OnePlus Nord  2, where despite it being a budget phone, it still supports the company’s 65W Warp Charge technology. This is versus Apple’s flagship iPhone 12 which only supports speeds up to 20W.

However, there might be some good news on that front. According to a report from MyDrivers, they claim that the iPhone 13 could see Apple bump those speeds up. Like we said, the iPhone 12 supports 20W charging but with the iPhone 13, it could be bumped up to 25W. It’s not a crazy bump in speed but we suppose it’s still an improvement.

We’re not sure how much faster it will be in terms of charging time, but 5W should make a difference, even if it’s a small one. That being said, as Apple does not bundle a charger with the iPhone anymore, we imagine that this faster charging will require that users buy their own chargers.

Apple does sell a 20W charger for the iPhone for $20, which admittedly isn’t as expensive as we thought given that it’s an official accessory. The iPhone 13 is expected to launch this September but whether or not the faster charging reports are true remains to be seen.
