This is according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter, where he claims that the iPhone 13 could adopt a similar alway-on display like the Apple Watch. “Expect a faster A15 chip, smaller notch, a new display for better battery life and the potential of an Apple Watch-like always on mode and a 120Hz refresh rate and upgrades to video recording.”
What’s interesting is that this isn’t the first time we’re hearing about this. Back in 2020, there was another leak which suggested the same thing, which is an always-on display and a 120Hz refresh rate. While Gurman’s report doesn’t necessarily make it true, it at the very least helps keep the rumors consistent.
That being said, we’re not sure how an always-on display would look for the iPhone. Apple did not mention or hint at anything during WWDC where they unveiled iOS 15, so we will have to wait for the official launch to find out more, if there is any additional info to be had.
