Are you looking for a pair of true wireless earbuds that can support the playback of hi-res audio but also won’t break the bank? Then perhaps Edifier might have something for you. The company, known mostly for their computer speakers, have launched the NeoBuds Pro, a pair of $99 true wireless earbuds with support for hi-res audio.
According to Edifier’s description of the NeoBuds Pro, “The Neobuds Pro are the first hi-res-certified, noise-canceling, truly wireless earphones in the market that boast a dynamic driver, Knowles balanced armature, and LHDC+ACC codec.” However, as Digital Trends points out, most phones sold in the US do not support LHDC for Bluetooth yet, even though technically they are supported in Android 10 or higher, but the onus is on smartphone makers to support it.
This means that you might not necessarily be able to take full advantage of what the earbuds have to offer. However, if you’re not that fussed about hi-res audio, the earbuds do have plenty of other features that might still be worth a look. This includes active noise cancelling, transparency mode, an accompanying smartphone app for EQ and control customization, and up to six hours of battery life.
If you’re keen on getting the earbuds, Edifier has launched them on Indiegogo where they are seeking funding for them, so head on over if you’d like to pledge your support.
