Apple Will Start Selling iPhones In LG’s Stores In Korea

After years and years of being in the business, LG announced earlier this year that they will be exiting the smartphone market. This is a pity as the company was responsible for creating some very unique and creative devices, and they were also expected to launch a phone with a rollable display later this year, but that will no longer happen.

It seems that Apple will now be trying to fill the gap that LG has left quite literally because according to reports out of Korea, it seems that come August, Apple will start selling iPhones in LG’s Korean stores. We actually heard about this back in June but this report is claiming that a deal has been struck and will come into effect next month.

This will see Apple sell their iPhones across LG’s 400 stores located around the country. It was initially reported that the deal might cover Mac computers too, but it seems that won’t be the case. This is because while LG might have exited the smartphone market, they are still in the computer market with its LG Gram laptops, so selling Macs would present a conflict of interest.

That being said, there is still a chance that this could fall through. Some lawmakers in the country have voiced their opposition to the deal, but LG has apparently added a “negotiable in case of change” clause in the agreement that some say make it too early to judge if LG is in any kind of violation.
