It’s kind of a silly problem and one that Microsoft should have addressed years ago, but better late than never because according to leaked Windows 11 screenshots, that’s something that the company could be fixing in the upcoming update. Basically in the screenshot, there is an option where users can check to have Windows remember the location and placement of your apps on your computer monitor.
This means that in theory, whenever your computer goes to sleep and you wake it up, all your apps should be left where they were instead of being pushed back to the primary display. Given that more people are using multiple displays these days, it actually makes sense that Microsoft will want to address this issue now.
Microsoft is expected to introduce Windows 11 soon, although we have no idea when it will be released. Windows 10 is currently set to die off in 2025 so we imagine that Windows 11 should be released before then.
