However, at WWDC 2021, Apple announced its next-gen macOS update called Monterey which will come with a cool feature called Universal Control. This will expand on how interconnected Apple’s devices are. For example, you can put two devices like a MacBook and an iPad next to each other and they will link up, and you can move your mouse from one device to another seamlessly.
You will also be able to drag and drop content from one device to another, so instead of having to wait to do an AirDrop transfer, you can quite literally drag an item from your iPad and drop it to your Mac instantly, as if they are the one and the same machine. We’re not sure what the limitations are at the moment, but if it works as advertised, it is pretty cool.
Apple already tries to link its devices up as much as possible, like with the Sidecar feature that turns the iPad into a secondary display for Mac computers.
