There have been rumors suggesting that the iPhone 13 might actually introduce a 1TB model, but if a recent TrendForce report is to be believed, that might not be the case anymore. The report claims that the iPhone 13 will cap out at 512GB of storage, the same as its predecessor in 2020, the iPhone 12.
This means that if you wanted a 1TB iPhone, you might have to wait until 2022 at the earliest, if it even comes at all. That being said, it’s not really a bad thing though. The price differences between the storage options are quite big and can be costly, so we’d hate to think how much a 1TB iPhone could cost.
However, at the same time, it is understandable that storage sizes are increasing. Our media files are getting larger thanks to better cameras that can capture higher-resolution photos and videos. Our phones are also becoming more powerful which means that games are taking advantage of it by introducing hi-res assets, which in turn increases their install sizes as well, so the idea of seeing a 1TB smartphone in the future doesn’t seem like a stretch of the imagination.
