Over the years, we’ve seen Square Enix remake and remaster some of its Final Fantasy titles to make them more playable on modern day PCs and consoles. However, it seems that the company isn’t done remaking its titles just yet. At E3 2021, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy 1-6 will be getting “pixel perfect” makeovers.
We’re not 100% sure what they mean. In the past remasters usually mean that we see the graphics in the games updated with more modern graphics while keeping everything else the same. Final Fantasy VII was the exception where Square Enix rebuilt the game pretty much from scratch.

Based on this announcement, it seems that this will most likely be the same games but with improved graphics, but that’s all we know about it at the moment. However, based on this, it should be noted that it will most likely not be headed down the same path as the Final Fantasy VII remake, so if you were hoping for massive overhauls, this won’t be it.
Some of the comments on the announcement are less than positive, with some wondering why Square Enix keeps remaking titles. Also, some gamers seem to be a bit disgruntled that these titles will be for PC and mobile and not for console. Either way, we should have more details leading up to the release so check back with us later for more updates.
