Twitter’s Verification Program Is Open Once Again

Following a suspension of their verification program last year, it was recently rumored that the program would be making its return this week. Sure enough, the rumors panned out because Twitter has since announced that their verification program has been relaunched with users being able to submit requests to be verified.

For those who are unfamiliar with the verification system, basically this is where Twitter will verify that you are who you say you are, like if you’re the CEO of a business, or if you’re a politician in your country, an athlete, a journalist, and so on. The idea is that verified accounts will make it easier for people to believe that the tweets you’re making are indeed coming from you.

In addition to relaunching the program, Twitter has also announced that they will be making it easier for users to submit their request to be verified. Users will now be able to submit their requests from the Twitter app itself. Of course, submitting a request doesn’t mean that you’ll get verified, it’s not a guarantee.

Users will need to choose the category that they fall under, like an influencer, government official, journalist, and so on, as well as submit various forms of identity so that Twitter can prove that it is you who is making the submission. Even then, like we said, there’s no guarantee, but you can always give it a shot.
