That being said, fans of the brand might want to take note that Sennheiser has sold off its consumer product division to Swiss medical audio company, Sonova. Sennheiser had actually indicated their interest in selling off their consumer division earlier this year, and it seems that about 2-3 months later they found themselves a buyer.
So, what does this mean for the company? In terms of the consumer end of things, the deal includes a license to use the Sennheiser brand which means that we can still look forward to consumer-grade headphones in the future, but exactly what this means for future product and product lineups is anyone’s guess.
According to Sonova CEO Arnd Kaldowski, “Combining our audiological expertise with Sennheiser’s know-how in sound delivery, their great reputation as well as their high-quality products will allow us to expand our offering and to create important touchpoints with consumers earlier in their hearing journey.”
