Apart from making phones and home appliances, Samsung also creates components like displays that are used in other products as well. In fact, for the upcoming Display Week 2021 event, Samsung has officially taken the wraps off several new display technologies that they have been working on.

One of those technologies includes a tri-foldable display called the S-foldable. If this sounds familiar, it is because last year the company actually patented a device that would sport a tri-fold display, so now it looks like that patent could soon become a reality. According to Samsung, when fully opened the screen will measure 7.2-inches, a good mini tablet size.

The next display Samsung showed off is a 17-inch foldable. Instead of a phone-cum-tablet, this display actually doubles as a monitor, meaning that when folded it will sport a 4:3 ratio, but when unfolded becomes a monitor you can use to connect to a laptop or a PC.

Last but not least, it seems that Samsung has also finally shown off its own rollable display concept that maintains the shape of a phone when closed, but can be rolled out to make the display larger. There is no word on which Samsung products will be taking advantage of these new displays, but if anything, it definitely hints at things to come.
