In terms of the design of the MacBook Air, Apple hasn’t really done much with the laptop since it was first launched. They did make some slight changes by giving it black bezels, offering it in more color options, but other than that, it’s outer design remains unchanged over the years, but that could change in the next-gen model.
According to leakster Jon Prosser, a video he recently published on his YouTube channel, he claims to have obtained images of what the next-gen MacBook Air could look like. However, he does note that it is possible that this could be a MacBook and not a MacBook Air, but we haven’t seen Apple update the MacBook lineup in years and it is largely presumed to be dead.
That being said, based on the images he described, it seems that Apple might be doing away with the design of the current MacBook Air. Instead of rounded edges that slope downwards, the new MacBook Air will feature flat edges all around and also a uniform thickness. This will make it similar to that of the MacBook Pro.
He also claims that the laptop will feature white bezels, similar to that of the recently launched 24-inch iMac. We’ve also heard that the new MacBook Air laptops could come in multiple color options. It will be interesting if the rumors are true because if they are, it feels like Apple is revisiting its computer designs of the past but with a modern take.
