This comes from a report from Korean publication The Elec in which they claim that Samsung has already started work on the production of LTPO displays for the higher-end iPhone 13 Pro models, while LG has also started working on the production of the LTPS displays that will be used for the lower-end iPhone 13 models.
For those who are hearing about these rumors for the first time, it seems that the iPhone 13 will see Apple finally usher in 120Hz displays for the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max handsets. Given that the company kind of kicked off the trend of higher refresh rates for mobile devices with the first-gen iPad Pro, it was a bit strange that the company did not immediately apply that tech to its smartphones, despite Android competitors doing so.
We suppose better late than never, plus it could have been that Apple wasn’t satisfied with the battery life with 120Hz displays, which might explain the use of LTPO which could help offset the energy consumption. Nothing official has been announced so don’t get your hopes up just yet.
