At Apple’s Spring Loaded event in April, the company announced a new Apple TV. Sure, it had improvements under the hood and there was also a brand new Siri remote control, but otherwise it wasn’t a particularly significant or groundbreaking update to the Apple TV lineup, but there could be a reason why.
A report from Bloomberg has revealed that Apple could be working on a more significant upgrade. This upgrade could come in the form of a new device that would combine Apple’s HomePod and Apple TV together. This means that in addition to being an Apple TV, users could also use it like a HomePod to play music and more importantly, also use it to control their smart home devices.
However, before you get too excited, the report claims that this device is still in early development which means that it might not be launching anytime soon. What’s interesting is that this isn’t the first time Bloomberg has heard that Apple could be working on multiple iterations of the HomePod.
For example, we heard that Apple could have a smart display HomePod device. There was also mention of a HomePod with a robotic arm that could be used to hold an iPad. In any case, it might be a while before we see any of these iterations hit the market, but which of these devices would you be most interested in seeing?
