For the most part, these changes aren’t going to be major new changes, but rather it seems that Google is augmenting existing features to make them better. For example, with routing, Google Maps will now calculate routes that have less instances where you would have to hard brake, which not only saves you on gas but can also reduce chances of accidents.
There will also be enhancements made to Live View through augmented reality that points out helpful details, like reviews of restaurants, photos, and more. Google will also make it easier to see which areas are currently busy at a glance from the overhead map view, so that you don’t have to go to individual locations to check on how busy it is.
Other changes also include tailoring the map to your needs based on things like time of day, so for example, opening up Google Maps in the morning will list nearby cafes instead of places that are dinner-only. According to Google, these are the changes that users can look forward to in the coming months, so keep an eye out for them.
