When it comes to audio products like speakers or headphones, there are people who prefer convenience like having wireless speakers or headphones, but then there are also some people who believe that wired speakers or headphones offer up much better audio quality. If you’re in the latter but would like to have the best of both worlds, you’re in luck.
This is because Belkin has taken the wraps off their latest accessory – the Belkin Soundform Connect. This is an adapter that when connected to a pair of regular wired speakers, will give them AirPlay 2 capabilities. This means that if you have a fancy hi-fi system setup in your home that you’d like to use it together with your phone, this will make it possible.
We’ve already seen accessories that can give speakers Bluetooth connectivity and those are pretty normal and common, but it’s not that common to find adapters that give AirPlay 2 connectivity. One of the reasons you might want to opt for this over cheaper Bluetooth adapters is that you could use it to gain multi-room support with other AirPlay 2 speakers, plus you can also use it together with Siri for playback control.
The Belkin Soundform Connect will work with any powered speaker and connects through either its optical port or the 3.5mm jack. If you’re interested, it is available for pre-order via Belkin’s website for $100.
