You don’t necessarily think of Apple when it comes to gaming, but it would be a lie to say that the company isn’t interested in the area. After all, Apple Arcade seems like a pretty good indication that they are interested in gaming to some degree. However, is Apple interested enough to pursue hardware designed for it?
According to a tweet by @FrontTron, it seems that Apple is apparently preparing a portable hybrid console similar to that of the Nintendo Switch. It’s an interesting rumor, although we’re not sure how true that is. After all, Apple has its iPhones and iPads that are more than capable of gaming, so why create a third device?
Apple, preparing a portable hybrid console, like the Switch
A new AP is being prepared with a new model name, not the Apple A series or M series. It features enhanced GPU performance and ray tracing support. Future games are in negotiation with Ubisoft.https://t.co/K88iSMC4bd

This information comes from a Korean forum in which they claim that Apple is also in talks with various game developers and publishers like Ubisoft to create games for this new device. It seems a bit out of place for Apple to start developing gaming hardware, so it’s probably best not to treat this information as gospel.
However, it wouldn’t be the first time that there have been rumors about Apple’s gaming aspirations. A couple of years ago, there was a rumor that claimed Apple was working on a Mac computer designed for gaming, but that rumor hasn’t panned out yet.
