Android 12 has been available as a developer preview for a while now, but in case you’re not a developer but you’re still curious as to what kind of changes you can expect, you’re in luck because Google has announced that the Android 12 beta is now available to download if you’re interested.
So what can we expect from Android 12? According to Google, one of the biggest changes would be to the user interface and design, which Google is calling Material You. One of the cool features is that it adapts to you, meaning that when you pick a wallpaper, Android 12 will attempt to determine the best colors that match the wallpaper and will theme Android around it.
There will also be improvements made to the animation and motions, as well as new security shortcuts that will make changing or reviewing device permissions a bit more easier. There will also be built-in indicators that let you know when your phone’s microphone or camera is being accessed.
There will also be other cool features like allowing your phone to double as a remote for Android TV devices, and also a Digital Car Key that will work with compatible car models. Like we said, if you’re interested you can go ahead and download the beta, but do note that for now there are only 11 device brands that are compatible with the beta, so make sure your make and model are one of the supported devices.
