Known as the SyncUP, these are T-Mobile’s take on tracking accessories. However, unlike Tile or the AirTags, SyncUP relies on neither Bluetooth nor UWB for tracking. Instead, it will leverage other forms of technology such as LTE and GPS. In a way, this might be better than Bluetooth or UWB.
This is because as long as there is cellular coverage, you should be able to locate the SyncUP accessory. This is versus Bluetooth where if you’re out of range, that’s too bad. The same can be said for Apple’s AirTags which uses the Find My network, which is great in an urban area, but not so great in more remote locations.
Of course, the downside here is that with SyncUP, you’ll have to keep it charged for it to work which might not be as convenient, so there are pros and cons to it. It is also more pricey than what Tile and Apple are offering at $60 per tracker, but if you think it’s more suited to you, then head on over to its website for the details.
