Spotify Launches A Mini Player Within Facebook App

If you’re a Spotify subscriber, there’s a chance you might have shared tunes to Facebook every now and then. The downside is that listening to Spotify will require you to leave the Facebook app, but that has changed as Spotify has since announced that they are launching a mini player within the Facebook app.

This means that whenever you click on a Spotify link in Facebook, and assuming you’re a Spotify Premium subscriber, a mini player will be launched that lets you listen to the song while you scroll through Facebook. This means that you get to keep doing what you’re doing while enjoying your tunes.

According to Spotify, “Discovery is important to Spotify. That’s why we’re improving how users share and engage with songs and podcast episodes by introducing a new miniplayer experience driven by social discovery—discovery that allows listeners to enjoy audio from Spotify directly within Facebook, without switching between apps.”

The feature isn’t available worldwide just yet, but according to Spotify, it is currently being rolled out to Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, South Africa, Thailand, Uruguay, and the U.S, but there are plans to continue expanding to more markets in the coming months.
