For those who are looking forward to I/O this year, you’ll be pleased to learn that Google is very much prepared and ready to come back. In an announcement by Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai, he has confirmed that I/O will be taking place this year from the 18th to the 20th of May. This date was actually initially discovered by 9to5Google who solved Google’s I/O puzzle. It will be a digital event but it will be streamed and hosted live for everyone to watch, similar to what many companies have been doing since 2020.
…and we're back:) Join us May 18-20 for #GoogleIO live, online, and free for everyone. https://t.co/763eVjWpYE pic.twitter.com/Sk3tUnLme0

In a way it’s actually a good thing as these events can be pre-recorded live which adds to the production value of the announcements. While we can’t say for sure what will be announced at I/O, we expect it should be in the same spirit as previous I/O events where we will learn more about Google’s plans for platforms like Android and Chrome OS, its services, and so on.
There is also a good chance that Google could take the opportunity to announce new products like the rumored Google Pixel 5a. Either way, now that the dates have been confirmed, be sure to check back with us then for the updates and official details.
