Fitbit is a company known for their fitness trackers and smartwatches, and it seems that they might have something new in the works. This is according to a report from WiFuture.de who claims that the company could be developing a new fitness tracker called the Fitbit Luxe, a “luxurious” fitness tracker.
We’re not sure what is so luxurious about this tracker. The report claims that it will feature the use of a stainless steel case with an OLED display, but apart from that, we’re not sure what other features it could have to make it qualify as being considered “luxurious”. It does, however, have a rather simple and elegant design based on the leaked renders which could make it perfect for an evening out.
In terms of features, not much is known but apparently it will offer GPS, a heart rate monitor, and will also be water-resistant for those who plan to go swimming with it. At the moment there is no word on when the Fitbit Luxe will be announced, but the press renders do look kind of final which suggests that we might hear about it soon.
It will also be interesting to see if the device could use Google’s Wear OS, especially with Google having acquired Fitbit, but based on the interface it doesn’t seem like it.
