However, before you get too excited at the prospect of augmented reality based glasses, this isn’t the direction that Razer is headed towards, at least not yet. If anything, it seems like the Anzu is more like a regular pair of glasses with some added technology, like open-ear audio which will let you hold voice calls without the need for a pair of headphones and a microphone as those are essentially built into the glasses itself.
The glasses will also feature Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity that should help with energy consumption and according to Razer, using the glasses’s microphone and speakers should allow users to get up to 5 hours of battery life on a single charge. Users can also fold the glasses when not in use which essentially shuts them off.
In addition to these features, the glasses will also come with lenses that have 35% blue light filtering. There are also replacement polarized lenses that can shield the wearer’s eyes from 99% of UVA/UVB rays, so you can use them as a pair of sunglasses as well. There are also touch-based controls built into the glasses to control music playback. The Razer Anzu is priced at $200 and is available for purchase via Razer’s website.
