It is no secret that when it comes to vacuum cleaners, Dyson is usually regarded as the Rolls Royce in terms of luxury, and also kind of like Tesla in terms of technology, so it doesn’t really come as a surprise to learn that the company’s new Dyson V15 Detect stick vacuum cleaner comes with fancy new features that will make cleaning fun.
One of the new features is a laser dust detection system. Basically this is a laser attached to the vacuum cleaner that shines a green beam on the area that you are cleaning. The idea is that the use of the color green makes it easier for us to spot areas of dust that we might have missed to ensure that we have the cleanest, dust-free floors possible.
We imagine you could buy third-party lasers and attach it to your current vacuum cleaner, but it probably wouldn’t be as cool. There is also a new acoustic piezo sensor that can monitor the air intake of the vacuum cleaner, and that information will then be shown on the vacuum cleaner’s built-in LCD. The vacuum cleaner will also be able to automatically change up the motor’s speed and power if it detects particularly large dust particles or debris.
If this sounds cool, you’ll be pleased to learn that it is available from Dyson’s website, but perhaps less pleased to hear that the Dyson V15 Detect will be priced at $700.
