Now a report from Bloomberg has revealed that apparently Apple is having a harder time than they thought trying to find a manufacturer for the Apple Car. It seems that many automakers aren’t exactly keen on the idea of Apple potentially disrupting their market. The report cites a manager who works/worked at Apple and Tesla who said that it would akin to asking Samsung to manufacture the iPhone.
This doesn’t mean that Apple will be giving up on their plans. Bloomberg’s report goes on to state that Apple could go back to a more tried-and-tested method where instead of getting a well-established brand to make their car, Apple could instead just design and source everything themselves and hire a contract manufacturer to put it all together.
This is an approach that Apple has taken in the past with pretty much all their devices, like the iPhone, iPad, Mac computers, and so on. We suppose having an established automaker oversee the manufacturing process would be ideal, but it looks like this may not happen.
