However, Weinbach does note that this is an estimation and not exactly official pricing, so don’t take it as concrete information just yet. However, if the price of the accessory is really around that range, it could actually make it kind of competitive. This is because Tile’s own Bluetooth trackers are priced roughly around that range, but they do have cheaper offerings like the Tile Mate and Tile Sticker that are more affordable.
The point is that for an Apple accessory, they aren’t as outrageously expensive as one would think, but then again these are just estimates and the actual price could be very different. That being said, there could be some limitations to Apple’s AirTags, like how it might only work with the iPhone which could limit its usability amongst non-iPhone owners.
However, at the same time, it is said to utilize UWB technology that could be more precise/accurate when transmitting its location, which some might appreciate compared to regular Bluetooth tracking. Apple is rumored to possibly host an event next month so hopefully we’ll have more details about the accessory then.
