According to Daniel Sennheiser, the company’s co-CEO, “To be best able to exploit the potential in each of these markets, we are concentrating our own resources on the three business areas in the Professional division and are looking for a strong partner to invest in our Consumer business.”
The company wants to focus more on its professional audio equipment, like its Neumann microphone division as well as what Sennheiser is referring to as business communications. Right now, the consumer audio market is rather competitive with many companies entering the fray with their own products.
Even companies like Apple, who didn’t really do much on the audio front before, have entered the fray with devices like the AirPods, AirPods Pro, and the HomePod series. Companies like Google and Samsung have also started to push out more audio products of their own over the years. There is no guarantee that a sale will happen, but it’s something that the company is exploring, so it’s probably something that fans should brace themselves for in the future.
