While a lot of other manufacturers have been more than happy to hop on board the Wear OS wearable platform made by Google, Samsung has been trying to forge ahead with their own path by using Tizen. So far Samsung has been fairly successful with it, with its smartwatches actually being quite popular.
However, if a recent tweet by leakster Ice Universe is to be believed, that could change. According to the tweet, they claim that for Samsung’s next smartwatch, the company could be adopting Wear OS instead. Now, we can’t be sure if this is a one-time thing or if it could be an indication that the company wants to transition from Tizen to Wear OS.
Samsung's new watch will use Android to replace Tizen.

It is entirely possible that Samsung could continue making two types of wearables, but at the same time, it does feel like they would be spreading themselves thin. Wear OS has a bigger following since it is based on Android, but it would also mean that Samsung would have more competition.
That being said, other rumors have also claimed that the company’s next smartwatch could come with a noninvasive method of measuring the user’s blood sugar levels. That could be a rather exciting development if it is true.
