For those who own Roku devices, you might be interested to learn that according to a post on Reddit, it appears that Roku has been sending out test remote controls to some of their customers. This new remote control comes with a built-in battery that’s non-removable but also rechargeable, similar to controls like the Apple TV’s remote.
Also, based on the screenshot, it seems that some of the buttons on the remote can be customized to link to personal shortcuts, meaning that you can program the remote to your own liking a personal preference. Oddly enough, this remote control still uses micro USB to charge instead of USB-C, but given that these are apparently “test” units, perhaps this is a temporary design.
There is no word on when Roku plans on releasing this remote to the masses, but if you’re a Roku user, then perhaps this might be something to keep an eye out for in the future.
