This will include shows from BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, and the Smithsonian Channel. The company claims that their service will play home to more than 30,000 episodes of various TV shows, 2,500 movie titles, and over 1,000 live sporting events as well as around-the-clock news coverage.
We know that there are many streaming services right now, so Paramount+ will be in a very competitive market. Whether or not it will have what it takes to succeed remains to be seen, and it will be interesting to see if it will be capable of dethroning the likes of Netflix or if it will experience the same growth spurt as Disney+.
The service, in addition to offering a premium $9.99 a month tier, will also offer an ad-supported tier at $4.99 a month. This option will be coming later in June and will not launch alongside the premium tier.
