This is according to a report from Bloomberg in which Mark Gurman claims that reverse wireless charging will not be coming to the iPhone anytime soon. Gurman claims that Apple had apparently discussed the idea internally where they floated the idea of using Apple products to charge each other.
It also seems that Apple even discussed the idea of introducing it for the iPhone 11, but scrapped those plans ahead of the launch. What’s interesting is that the iPhone 12 has the necessary hardware to support reverse wireless charging, which means that it could be a matter of Apple flipping the switch to turn it on and enable it.
That being said, it doesn’t mean that Apple will never launch or release reverse wireless charging, but rather if you were hoping to see the feature in the immediate future, you probably shouldn’t get your hopes up.
