However, the good news is that with the next-gen MacBook Pro, Apple could fix that issue. A report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that with the next-gen MacBook Pro, Apple is said to not only introduce a brand new design to the laptop, but will also bring back certain ports like the SD card slot.
They will also be introducing a HDMI port which is great news for users who own monitors that don’t necessarily have a USB-C/Thunderbolt connection. Ideally we’d love to see maybe USB-A ports for legacy devices, but we suppose having HDMI and the SD card slot back would be a decent compromise.
Other rumored features include a design inspired by the iPad Pro, the return of MagSafe charging, and we could also be bidding the Touch Bar goodbye. We’re not sure when the new MacBook Pro will be announced, but seeing as the last refresh was late 2020, chances are it will probably be much later in the year.
