For those who might have heard about Clubhouse but aren’t familiar with what it does, you could think of this like being some kind of live chatroom, but instead of text, people speak with their voices, which makes it a bit more personal and so far based on our experience, slightly less troll-ish.
People can create or join rooms where there are ongoing discussions about various topics depending on the room you’re in. In a way, it’s also like a podcast type of system where a host can invite others to take part in a discussion, while listeners can also request to chime in. It is an interesting concept and one that Twitter is also developing themselves called Spaces.
Right now, Clubhouse is limited to iOS users and is invite-only, but presumably it should open up to more users in the future. It is unclear when Facebook plans on debuting their own version of Clubhouse, so we’ll have to wait and see.
