A recent report from CNBC has cited a source who told them that Apple’s first car has apparently been designed without a driver in mind. It seems that Apple isn’t going to tread lightly but will go for the full driverless experience.
The source says, “The first Apple Cars will not be designed to have a driver. These will be autonomous, electric vehicles designed to operate without a driver and focused on the last mile.” The last statement is interesting because it sounds like maybe at the start, Apple will focus on using their cars for delivery.
That being said, the latest rumors are claiming that Apple is in talk with Hyundai, where the latter will help Apple build their cars. A more recent report also claims that Apple could invest as much as $3.6 billion into Kia (owned by Hyundai) to help get production going in their factory in North America.
