Mark Gurman from Bloomberg is reporting on the changes that Apple will be making to the iMac in terms of its design, and apparently the bezels and the chin will go. Obviously it would not be possible to eliminate the bezels entirely, but they are expected to be slimmed down. The end look is expected to be similar to the Pro Display XDR.
If that is the case, we can’t say that we are too surprised. This is because when Apple launched their Thunderbolt Displays, they featured a similar design to the iMac (back then). Right now there’s a bit of a discrepancy between the Pro Display XDR and the iMac, but this design change could fix that.
Gurman’s report goes on to claim that the new iMacs will feature Apple’s M-series chipset and it will apparently be the next-gen version of the M1, although we can’t be sure of its naming scheme yet. The new iMacs are expected to be revealed this year, with a report earlier this month suggesting that it could be as soon as March.
