The good news for those who prefer a phone that’s easier to hold than it is thin, a report from Macotakara claims that with the iPhone 13, Apple could make the phone thicker by about 0.26mm. The rest of the dimensions are expected to remain the same as its predecessors, so the only difference will be the thickness. It is unclear why that might be, but hopefully the thicker body mean that Apple will be fitting a larger battery.
The report also goes on to claim that while the camera modules will remain the same, Apple could actually make some design changes on that front by using a single sapphire glass to cover all three lenses. Right now, each camera sort of stands on its own, as you can see in the image above. However, the use of sapphire to cover all three cameras will help give it a more seamless look and hopefully better protect it against scratches.
We did previously hear that Apple won’t be making any major camera changes to the main camera for the iPhone until 2023, but it doesn’t mean that they won’t tweak the design of its housing. Either way, it’s probably best to take this report with a grain of salt for now.
