However, if you’re using an iPhone, you might want to update ASAP. Apple has recently released the iOS 14.4 update which comes with a bunch of improvements and bug fixes, which might sound a bit bland and typical, but it seems that the update will also fix three major security flaws that Apple claims could have been already exploited in the wild.
As TechCrunch notes, it is a bit odd that Apple would publicly announce these flaws since the company hasn’t really been known to do that in the past. In fact, most exploits tend to be reported by outside security researchers AFTER the issue has been fixed, so for Apple to make this claim suggests that maybe these flaws are quite serious and they’re hoping that it would get users to update their devices ASAP.
It is unclear how many users could have fallen victims to some of these exploits, but regardless, iOS 14.4 should patch them, so if you haven’t updated your iPhone yet then now might be a really good time to do so.
