One of the appeals of smart displays is that they not only function like a smart speaker, but the addition of the display also means that you can watch videos, watch video feeds, and so on. If you’re looking to make your smart display a little bit more entertaining, you’ll be pleased to learn that Netflix is now streamable on Amazon’s Echo Show.
It was actually previously announced that Netflix would be streamable through the Echo Show a few months ago, but it looks like the integration has finally arrived. All users need to do to launch Netflix is to say, “Alexa, open Netflix” and they’re good to go. Obviously you would need to have an active Netflix subscription to watch the shows, but assuming that you do, you should be able to pick up right where you left off.
The benefit of having Netflix streamable on a device like the Echo Show is convenience. For those who keep their smart displays in the kitchen for use when cooking to watch cooking videos or just keeping themselves entertained, you now have a new way of entertaining yourself.
Beyond that, we’re not sure how many people would actually want to use a smart display for such a purpose, but like we said, it’s an alternative to the TV or your smartphone in case you wanted a bigger screen, and having options isn’t a bad thing.
