The original Mass Effect trilogy was so beloved that its developers actually went back to the last game and tweaked its ending, so as to better appease players who invested heavily into the story over the years. Many had high hopes for Andromeda, but it kind of fell short, but there is some good news.
It seems that there is a chance that BioWare could be returning to the original trilogy, or at least pick up where it left off. This is according to a trailer that previewed during The Game Awards which suggested that the new Mass Effect gamer could continue from the ending of Mass Effect 3.
There is more evidence that this could be true as during the trailer, there was an appearance from an Asari, which some believe could be Liara T’Soni, a key character from the first and third game in the original series. There is also an appearance of a piece of N7 armor that the series’ protagonist, Commander Shepard, is associated with.
That being said, it will be interesting to see if the game will indeed return to its original roots given how many people loved it, but at the same time, too much hype and anticipation could lead to disappointment. Either way, we’ll have to wait and see.
